Looking to expand my life experience, I moved to the “big city” of Indianapolis, and started a career in the indoor tanning industry. After spending 2 years in Indy, I got an opportunity to move to Los Angeles, CA. I now spend my time between LA and San Francisco.
I started my recruiting career in 1999, during the DotCom Boom. I focus on Software and Hardware Engineering. Brett Leonardo is the Director of Technical Recruiting, leading all talent acquisition and employee retention efforts for the semiconductor industry through MoTek Technologies. He oversees executive search and non-executive recruiting services.
Gerardo San Jose is a soldier in the never-ending war for talent. Gerardo is a goal driven, production motivated headhunter of technical individuals. Acquiring the utmost in quality individuals and servicing the most prestigious venture-backed companies around the world. He consistently provides top tier service to both job seekers and client companies alike. Previously, Gerardo worked as a Site Supervisor in the Midwest Oil and Gas fields. On his off time, he enjoys going to the gym, cooking, playing and watching sports, going to concerts and music festivals and volunteering his time to less fortunate.
“I’m originally from Los Angeles, California but I spent my childhood, and my early teens in Northern California, particularly Galt, California. I grew up on a ranch with several pets and I spent my time enjoying the laid back lifestyle. I’m a big animal lover and in my spare time I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, working out and spending time with my family, friends and dogs.
Shilpa has a background in human resources, having worked for several years in industries as BPO and Software Consulting – both of which have a customer centric focus. Her ability to relate to various clients and candidates requirement, helps her nail the right fit. Shilpa holds a Bachelors in Accounting and a Master’s in Human Resources. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and exploring the great outdoors. Shilpa is the second of three siblings and was born and raised in Mumbai, India. She later moved to the United States in 2006.
Garvey is from Washington D.C., but has spent nearly 15 years in Southern California. Garvey brings a lot of enthusiasm and passion for recruiting which started by working in college admissions. “It was an exciting time because I felt directly responsible for helping people get their education”. From there, Garvey gained additional experience by working in Talent Acquisitions and HR, and then eventually in Staffing as a recruiter in Accounting and Finance. Technical Recruiting brings an exciting challenge that merges great candidates with great companies, and Garvey is very proud to be a part of that.
Jess was born and raised in Southern California and got into Recruiting because he wanted to connect great people with great companies. While studying Psychology at San Jose State University, he acquired an interest in the workings of Silicon Valley and wanted to pursue a career in technology. As a result, he decided to take his passion for recruiting into the technical field as a way to help engineers find their perfect job.
Troy is one of the newest members of the MoTek Technologies family. He was mainly raised in a Northridge; a suburb of Los Angeles. He studied Business Management in school, and was a high school and collegiate athlete. His professional background is primarily in sales, and customer service. Aside from work, he spends his time playing basketball, altering clothes, and spending time with his closest friends and family.
Lawrence was born and raised in Boston, MA, one of the oldest and greatest cities in US. From an early age, his curiosity for discovering how things work landed him the nickname “The Tape Man” by his parents. Who often didn’t appreciate his methods of taking things apart, and duct taping them back together. His technical savvy later led him to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University. However, after graduating and holding roles in both structural engineering and management, it was his passion for technology that steered him to make a career change, and head to CA to learn full-stack web development, with hopes of jumping into the action of the booming technology industry. Leaving behind the cold, snowy winters of the East Coast was a big plus as well. After gaining his coding chops, Lawrence became the CTO of an early-stage start-up, where he sharpened both his technical and leadership skills. He also learned the hustle and grind the job required. He found that developing strong relationships with investors, customers, his knack for sourcing great talent were key strengths, and that led him to his current role as a Technical Recruiter with MoTek Technologies. He prides himself on his ability to connect, and build a rapport with both the top talent in the industry, and the companies that are looking for that talent.
